India: Patent Agent Examination- Last Date of Registration Extended amid COVID-19 outbreak

The outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwide has compelled several government organizations and institutions to extend their deadlines for procedural compliances during the lockdown.

In the wake of COVID – 19 outbreak in India, the Office of Controller General Patents, Designs and Trademarks, Mumbai released a public notice number CG/F/Office Order/2020/216 dated March 19, 2020 mentioning that the last date to register for Patent Agent Examination (PAE)- 2020 has been extended to April 15, 2020. Earlier, the Public Notice dated February 24, 2020 mentioned the last date of registration for PAE as March 25, 2020.

The aforesaid extension has been done by the CGPDTM amidst coronavirus outbreak in India which has disrupted normal life and also compelled the Government to impose a Lockdown in India till April 14, 2020.
