NCDRC to hear matters through Video Conferencing

NCDRC resumes functioning of the Forum via video conferencing

The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (hereinafter referred to as ‘NCDRC’) on June 02, 2020 rolled out a notice in respect of hearing of matters amidst COVID 19[1]. With a view to resume functioning of the Forum, the NCDRC vide the above notice has notified that the Hon’ble Forum will begin hearing of cases via video conferencing from June 15, 2020.

The request for hearing matters through video conferencing can be made by conveying a request to the Registry of the National Commission. The interested parties would also be required to submit digital records of their case before the hearing.

NCDRC- Filing of cases

Additionally, fresh matters can also be filed by the parties starting June 03, 2020, wherein parties would be required to submit the digitized copies along with the physical files. After the said has been done, the matter could be taken up for video conferencing.

Earlier the NCDRC had taken up hearing of only urgent matters in view of the pandemic. Accordingly, the matters requiring urgent hearing could be mentioned at the residential premises of NCDRC President[2].
